Week 1 - 2 (Sem 1)

Work submission and in class talks.
Work presentation.

Introduction

22-26 August

Week 2, we dive into what to expect for the submissions of our dissertation as well as our graduation projects. Andreas also brought in an alumni to talk to us on how he progresses daily and how he came to his final product (Matthew).

We were tasked to do a mindmap on our project along with other small branches of what we want to do and how our project would be related to the main bubble drawn. With that we were to go around different mind maps and pick what we think was cool and interesting for them to venture on and for mine, people choose senses in artificial intelligence. From there I decided to work more on what I can do and research on existing projects that have been done related to what was chosen and below would be some examples and works I've seen online.

The second week for the graduation project was for all of us to go through our slides so Andreas would have a better understanding of what we are trying to do at the end of the year. With that being said, there are some amazing works and ideas that my classmates came up with and I can't wait for the final piece as well as working together as a class to help each other out.

Presentation

Presentation day by students includes Ellie, Ariel.

Ellie ↘

A presentation by my lovely classmate Ellie. From "Paper to Pixel” which focuses more on NFT and how to make digital artworks into physical objects so that people can cherish more of the pieces rather than paying high amounts of money for a work that you can never physically touch.

Ariel ↘

Ariel project is called "soundwalk"

What's on for next week?

After the feedback given not only from Andreas but also from my peers, they are alot of things I can look into machine learning and also artificial intelligence. Things such as senses area also being given as an example of the interactivity that I can play around with then thinking of my final year project.

Some things to study is how computer learn through teaching which is what machine learning basically means. Things like hybrid designer can also be explored on how normal designers can gain extra knowledge and learn the basics of codes so that they can work together with engineers in the future. How can we actually deal with the bias between developers and designers. Are engineers dictating how designers live and do their work? Or do we need each other in order to progress in the future. Reserching on the types of tools there are in the web as there are ever growing.
