10-14 April
Open studio week where we show our work in progress and get feedbacks from users who we do not know and even from our own peers. A good way to know where you stand in your project and if your deliverables are understood by newcomers.
I manage to pull off a really perfect square MIDI after countless of times and countless of wasted acrylics
and Im really really happy with the end results. Though I thought that I might not use it for the final one,
I was still happy with how it turn out to be and would really excite me to do more shapes and colours in the
future.
Also, the midi works really well and fine. I also learn how to use the Arduino Micro instead of using
a breadboard so that I can hide all the wires nicely into a smaller packaging and make it more minimal.
However,
MIDI players are suppose to look really squarish or rectangular due to the fact that it has been tested as a user experience
and that a lot of professionals have known MIDI to be in that shape and worked with it.
Feedbacks from square MIDI
⇀ Very very sleek I would actually buy the MIDI without even using it.
⇀ Make more colours depending on someones favourite color.
⇀ Might be too simple. Maybe you want to add abit more twist in the shapes of the MIDI.
⇀ The shape of it is pretty handy for me to bring it anywhere I want and I can use it as any point of time
just by plucking it in.
⇀ Having an opaque color to hide off the wiring would look sleek and seemless. Nevertheless I love the colors still.
I decided why not even when I'm not using the modular, I was really please with the shape and form and decided to also take images to be put in my publication. This was how the images turns out to be.
For the final stretch, I decided that I would wanna make another modular and how I got the inspiration is through
musical wavelength as well as table designs I found from pinterest. What if I could actually create something more fun and cool. Somehow it will invite people to
come to your booth and play it ya know.
Getting inspirations from a table is beneficial as well as it makes me know how the table could stand in such a firm manner without
dropping. This would help me a lot as my product requires accessive pressing which might not be stable and would worn off in a long
run.
